This recognition reflects the support and trust of all our members, whose contributions enabled the association to exceed the minimum requirement of 100 members. The + Pinhal would like to express its gratitude to everyone who made this achievement possible. Financial transparency, sound accounting practices, the submission of activity reports, the implementation of activity plans and the development of future action plans also contributed to obtaining this status.
Being recognised as an Environmental NGO (ONGA) formally acknowledges the association’s commitment to environmental protection and nature conservation. It strengthens its legitimacy to engage in environmental issues, raise community awareness, promote environmental education initiatives and participate in the protection of natural heritage.
This status also grants access to specific rights established by law, including opportunities to participate in public procedures and benefits associated with official recognition as an Environmental NGO, subject to applicable legal provisions.
For example, in the event of an intervention in the Ovar Dunes Forest Perimeter (Perímetro Florestal das Dunas de Ovar), + Pinhal may request official information about relevant plans and administrative decisions and submit substantiated contributions. The law expressly provides Environmental NGOs with rights of access to environmental information and participation in decision-making processes.
This achievement further strengthens our commitment to continuing to do more to protect Ovar’s natural heritage.
